Starting on Friday 17th May, Redwings’ Aylsham Visitor Centre, north of Norwich, will be opening its doors once again to art enthusiasts and Sanctuary supporters who will be able to browse and buy pieces from a wide collection of donated artwork.
From classically framed works depicting traditional countryside scenes, to modern colourful pieces by amateurs and professionals alike on an eclectic range of subjects, there’s something for everyone at this year’s event.
Prices of artwork will range from £5 to £70, and every penny raised from the art sale will go directly towards the care of Redwings’ 1,500 rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules nationwide.
Plus, if you’re a budding artist or if you have pre-loved paintings, sculptures or textiles tucked away and looking for a new home, Redwings is still welcoming donations of artwork for the sale. Donated pieces can be accepted until Friday 10th May.
While attending the art sale, which is free to enter, visitors can also take the opportunity to enjoy a stroll around the centre and meet some of the charity’s rescued residents who will benefit from the funds raised.
Anne McLean, Redwings’ Gifts in Kind Manager, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing back our annual art sale with another beautiful collection of donated artwork. Thanks to generous donors and buyers, last year’s sale raised over £1,200 which could provide veterinary health checks for 24 new arrivals at the Sanctuary or feed 80 of our rescued residents with hay for a whole month! Every penny really does make the difference.”
The Redwings Art Sale will take place between Friday 17th May and Monday 24th June, at Redwings Aylsham, Spa Lane, Aylsham, Norfolk, NR11 6UE. The centre is open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays), 10am to 4pm – and entry is free.
