The Society was founded in 1947 by the late Bill & Marion Bryson to provide sanctuary and a home of rest for retired and ill-treated horses and ponies.
Over the years the society has expanded and now also provides a refuge for dogs, cats, goats and other animals.
The majority of the animals in Bryson’s care may have been ill-treated, abandoned or their owner may have died leaving no one to care for them. Others may have simply been lost and their owner cannot be traced.
