History:  Lizzie came into our care March 2012, when she had nowhere to go following disruption in her owner’s circumstances. She had never been backed and had always lived in the same place with the same field mate. Lizzie understandably had limited education and was quite difficult to handle as she was nervous in her new environment. With time and patience, Lizzie made great progress and found a home where she was much loved. Unfortunately poor Lizzie has not had much luck and again due to circumstances she was returned to Belwade. Hopefully this time she will find her forever home.

Use:  Companion

Behaviour:  Lizzie has a sweet nature and really wants to please. She is a worrier and new things will need some time and patience to overcome. Lizzie really loves company whether it is human or horse and would most enjoy a quiet private home or small yard.

Potential:   Lizzie is probably the cuddliest mare we have at the moment, and she will stand for ages in the field for fuss. Lizzie is looking for a quiet home where she will always have a friend. Sadly she is not suitable for riding due to poor conformation but she could make a nice companion. She lives out all year round and has not needed a rug here. Lizzie has come on a long way since she arrived but she is a bit of a worrier and is happiest living out with another horse full time. She can be strong to lead and is likely to box walk if stabled. Lizzie was rehomed previously and had to return due to a change in her Rehomer’s circumstances who was devastated to have to give her up. Lizzie is definitely happier on a small yard with one to one attention. She would be a great horse for someone who enjoys ground work training.
