The Donkey Sanctuary PHILANTHROPY OFFICER

APPLICATION DEADLINE:

Within our new Fundraising Strategy, we have an ambition to significantly grow our annual income, reaching £50m per annum by 2022. This growth will come from a range of areas across the Fundraising Team, but one area where significant growth is anticipated is within our Philanthropy Team. We have a strong foundation of philanthropy expertise, commitment and experience and we are now seeking a talented and experienced Philanthropy Officer to assist with the delivery of a step change in scale and income over the coming years.

Possessing proven relationship management skills, you will manage and steward a portfolio of mid-value individual supporters, being their main point of contact with the charity, and a portfolio of existing Trusts and Foundations supporters, submitting relevant grant applications and reports as required. You will also support the Philanthropy Team in the production of thank you letters, newsletters, appeals, new stewardship materials and events. Experience of identifying new, prospective supporters or customers and submitting funding proposals to those audiences, together with the ability to form strong, mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, is essential, as are excellent administration and IT skills, and the ability to simultaneously manage a wide range of tasks.

If you feel you have the skills and experience to fulfill this varied and rewarding role, and would like to be part of an ambitious and growing Fundraising Team, we would love to hear from you. Based in Sidmouth, Devon – “an area of outstanding natural beauty” – this is a full-time, permanent contract starting as soon as possible.
