The Donkey Sanctuary Gardener

Here at The Donkey Sanctuary our gardeners take great pride in creating a beautiful environment for all to enjoy, and we are seeking to recruit a willing and hard-working person to join our busy team.

Under the supervision of the Head Gardener, you will maintain the grounds at Slade House Farm, Trow Offices and the adjacent areas. Your duties will include the propagation and planting of trees, shrubs and flowers, and the maintenance of the gardens, maze, car parks, lawns, trees and buildings, at all times adhering to set Health and Safety procedures and COSHH regulations.

Able to work as part of a team, you will liaise with our maintenance and other departments within the charity, and with our volunteers. You will possess good communication skills, and will love meeting and talking to supporters and engaging with members of public, enhancing their visitor experience.

A willingness to learn new skills and undertake any necessary training, together with the ability to demonstrate good organisational and time management skills, is essential. Previous gardening or horticultural experience is desirable.

This is a full-time, fixed term role starting as soon as possible until 31 May 2018.
