Education & Youth Publications Officer

Redwings is seeking an excellent communicator with a passion for animal welfare and excellent horse care knowledge to assist with visitor engagement and Redwings’ education function delivery.

As a key member of the Communications Department you will be responsible for the implementation of a variety of educational programmes, with a particular focus on visitor engagement. Working closely with the Education and Campaigns Manager you will also deliver, and train and support visitor centre teams and volunteers, in the delivery of Redwings’ education function to external interest groups (schools, colleges and community groups) as well as assisting with in-house events such as our evening veterinary seminars, and being part of the Redwings external events team.

This is an exciting and varied role where you’ll also be responsible for producing two twice-yearly publications – Young Reds and Mini Reds – to enhance our education work, and engage and inspire young supporters. You’ll also be responsible for producing content for the publications’ associated websites and ensure the continued growth of their subscriptions.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for education, good organisational abilities and first rate written and verbal communication skills. You will have excellent horse care knowledge, plenty of relevant experience or demonstrable transferable skills, and you will be fully committed to the aims and vision of Redwings.

Closing date and time: 12 noon Tuesday 29th May 2018

Interviews will be held on: Thursday 31st May 2018
