In order to provide the UK Government and its devolved administrations with up-to-date evidence of the issues facing our sector due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19, NEWC is carrying out a follow-up survey of equine rescue and rehoming organisations across the UK.
We hugely appreciate the response to our original survey which enabled us to establish firm engagement with Defra and the devolved administrations on support for the sector. However, to give us the best chance of receiving targeted support we need further information to strengthen our case and we hope this survey will provide that.
Please complete the NEWC Covid-19 Follow-up Survey (Nov 2020) on behalf of your organisation in as much detail and as soon as you possibly can. For organisations based in England, we fully appreciate that lockdown 2.0 will have exacerbated any issues, but we want to also understand the broader picture (i.e. the impact of the ‘Tiered restrictions’ approach).
We estimate that the survey will take around 10 minutes to complete, and it will remain open until midnight on Friday 20th November.
The survey results will be used to produce a comprehensive report to government. We urge you to include your name and rescue details but can confirm that the survey results will be anonymised and no individual organisations will be identified.
We would also like to draw your attention to the forthcoming deadline of 15th January 2021 for applications to the Equine Rescues Emergency Fund, which may be of some help to you during this time. The purpose of the fund is to help smaller equine welfare organisations across the UK who are being significantly impacted by the current crisis.
It is vital that we obtain as many responses as possible from ALL equine-keeping charities, regardless of size, so that we can provide clear, evidence-based findings of the real impact experienced by our whole sector.
We hope we can rely upon your support to share your experiences with us.
