AGM & General Meeting – 2014

The NEWC 2014 Annual General Meeting was held on 8th April 2014 at The Brooke. Thank you to The Brooke for kindly hosting this meeting, for all members who attended and contributed to this meeting and to the following interesting speakers:-

Roly Owers (World Horse Welfare) gave an update on the Equine Sector Council and its progress in England with DEFRA.

Kerry Taylor and Gemma Taylor from the Blue Cross who reported on the National Equine Health Survey (NEHS)

Dr Andrew Waller from the Animal Health Trust spoke about the vital role being played by equine welfare charities: ‘Breaking the Strangles Hold’.

The NEWC General meeting was held on 26 November 2014 at World Horse Welfare, Snetterton, Norfolk.

Fred Barrelet DipVMS(Berne), DrMedVet(Berne), MRCVS (Rossdales) spoke on the topic of  ‘Equine Child Labour’ looking at the equine age and reproductive maturity within the different disciplines.
